rigister now!
The Internet is infested with viruses, worms, spyware and lurking
cyber crooks. So if you’re running an e-business, you MUST show your
customers that your business can be trusted. One very powerful way to do
this is to use one of Go Daddy’s special domain services and make the
domain your Web site sits on a so-called “Certified Domain.” A Certified
Domain lets people know that Go Daddy has formally certified its
registration.
A Certified Domain provides visible evidence (in the form of the
Domain Origination Certified seal) that a domain has been validated and
its registrant’s credentials have been verified. This makes a Certified
Domain particularly useful to owners of business Web sites and other
sites that offer transactions and other activities of a sensitive
nature. All site owners, however, can improve their site’s legitimacy
and trustworthiness by displaying the Domain Origination Certified seal.
There are three ways to add Go Daddy domain certification to your domain:
1) You can purchase it directly from Go Daddy’s main Web site menu. You
can apply it to either an existing or a new domain registration.
2) You can go to the Go Daddy Domain Manager and upgrade an existing domain to include domain certification.
3) You can apply a previously purchased domain certification credit
to a domain that you currently have registered with Go Daddy.
Regardless of the method used to request domain certification, Go
Daddy’s verification process starts immediately. When the domain has
passed the validation process, Go Daddy adds a Domain Origination
Certified seal to the domain’s Whois listing. You can also add the seal
to the Web site for the certified domain, showing site visitors that the
domain passed Go Daddy’s stringent validation process.
Keep in mind that a Domain Certificate is NOT the same as an SSL
Certificate: An SSL certificate enables a secure, encrypted connection
between a visitor’s Web browser and a Web site’s server and keeps
transactions safe from tampering and interception. A Certified Domain
shows Web site visitors that the registration and control of the Web
site’s domain name were validated. A Certified Domain does not establish
a secure connection and it does not provide credit card transaction
processing. Most e-businesses will benefit from adding both certificate
types to their Web sites.
